What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! We are currently seeking a Practice Leader - Capital District in our Albany, NY office. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding HNTB’s Transportation Practice in the Capital Region, including financial management and business development for the Highway and Bridge practices. They will also be responsible for direction and supervision of a multiple professional or technical groups. Directs project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients are provided the best design capabilities to meet their needs. Responsible for efficient, productive utilization of staff in providing high-quality service.
Develop and maintain established client relationships with NYSDOT, NYS Thruway Authority and related clients, including monitoring client satisfaction
Lead strategic client and project pursuits and serve as a Client Service Leader for selected clients.
Attend and participate in frequent industry events
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Possess New York P.E. license
Understand NYSDOT policies and project requirements
Knowledge of local, regional, and national transportation initiatives
Proven experience in managing the commercial side of engineering projects and pursuits, including negotiations, fee and contract reviews.
Strategic thinker with a focus on sustainable growth
What You'll Need
Actively manages assigned project management activities (project scope, schedule, budget and quality management) and performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications and plan preparation.
Implements and executes the firm’s Sophisticated Sales Approach, Sophisticated Contracting Approach and Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SSA, SCA, SDA).
Establishes priorities and work schedules and coordinates resource needs/assignments.
Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
Responsible for the hiring, supervision, mentoring, professional development, evaluation and termination of department staff members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design or relevant degree
16 years relevant experience
4 years supervisory experience
