What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking a Project Manager II - Drainage to join our Transportation team out of our Baltimore, MD office.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Possess, build, and maintain relationships with public agency clients in Maryland.
Lead and be responsible for business development and sales activities with clients to support the strategic goals of the Office.
Function as a Project Manager and/or Contract Manager to provide multidisciplinary engineering design services on transportation infrastructure projects delivered under a range of contract types.
Lead the development of design deliverables associated with multiple technical disciplines, with primary emphasis on drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, and MS4 facilities and programs.
Lead the design development and/or assist in providing technical direction regarding the scope of projects, technical approach, and design criteria.
Provide senior-level technical expertise and guidance on projects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, preparation of contracts for construction, and construction-phase services.
Review and check engineering work products completed by others through application of a standardized QA/QC program.
Coordinate with clients to define work programs and budgets, provide leadership in project planning and strategy including general oversight and planning, project management, project implementation, and ensure quality of work products.
Participate in professional activities to develop and maintain client relationships, and advance the strategic interests of HNTB.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Demonstrated successful delivery of design-build and P3 projects.
Hold a license as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Maryland required, or ability to acquire a license within 60 days of hire.
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead strategies for project pursuits to secure work from public agencies in Maryland..
Directly engage with clients to develop and negotiate scope and fee.
Lead a team of professionals with limited direction to deliver successful, profitable services across the full project life cycle.
Complete work accurately and in accordance with engineering codes, ethical standards, and sound business practices.
Effectively communicate and coordinate with team members across multiple technical disciplines.
Manage and coordinate schedule and progress on multiple concurrent tasks.
Complete work on time and within budget.
Be energetic, self-directed and success-focused.
Support staff development through delegation, mentoring, recruitment, and evaluation.
What You'll Need
Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.
Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.
Coordinates work efforts and reviews of work performed by project team. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
12 years relevant experience
4 years project management experience
