HNTB Transit System Safety - Senior Project Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia
What We're Looking For
Provides coordination of project system safety execution and control to achieve continuity of purpose within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through project closeout. Also accountable for handling specific design aspects on projects appropriate to discipline field. Coordinates efforts of assigned team to ensure completeness and accuracy of system safety requirements. Serves as technical system safety liaison with client on project efforts. Responsible for gross revenue of $1-$2M.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Generate, develop and/or review transit agency SSPP, SSMP, SSP and PMP for required projects
Generate, develop and/or review documents such as SSC plans, PHAs/OHAs, and TVA,s
Generate, develop and/or review consultant prepared monthly reports for project’s checklists on DCCCs, CCCs, CILs, SPCCs status, etc.
Prepare PMO/FTA monthly reports for project’s Safety & Security Deliverables and Checklists, Certifications’ Status, Safety Meetings, Construction Activities, Statistics, Trend Analysis and Key Performance Indicators, Consulting Services Reviews, Audits,etc.
Participate at the monthly PMOC and FTA Quarterly Review meetings
Participate at monthly agency Safety & Security Review Committee, Fire & Life Safety Committee, Security & Safety Committee, etc.
Participate at weekly construction progress meetings (all contracts / all projects), project controls meeting, and systems integrationsmeetings
Participate at the different testing activities for system integrations
Review and approve contractor’ Safety and Security proposed professional for construction contracts
Reviewand approvecontractor’SiteSpecificSafetyPlans & SiteSpecificSecurityPlansforconstructioncontracts
Review and provide safety and security input for contract’s legal language
Provide assistance and coordination between different contract overlapping activities during testing of trains in addition to the external support resources and communication coordination (EMS, CDOT, CMPD, etc.)
Procurement: Provide safety and security input for RFP documents for bids, create S&S Checklist for contractors evaluation, and participate at the contract closeout phase for acceptance of contractor S&S compliance
Risk Management: Collaborates on incident and claims investigations associated with projects development
Communications: Participates and collaborates on Community & Media Events for S&S on project development
Training: Provide monthly/bi-monthly class on Project S&S Management
Coordinate construction safety performance oversight with project’s CMC Safety Management representatives for vertical and horizontal projects
What You'll Need
Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions.
Responsible for the discipline-specific planning, work distribution, and leadership and adherence to the schedule, and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects.
Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects within discipline.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives on complex or unusual engineering projects.
Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects.
Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects. Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex or unusual engineering projects
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience
Master’s degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience
PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience
