HNTB Sr Business Analyst - PMCS Solutions in Austin, Texas

What We're Looking For

Sets up, modifies and customizes systems to meet project needs, business procedures, workflows, change approvals and client and HNTB needs. Builds workflow and reporting into system when possible. Communicates to project teams and clients. Trains others on the system including the development of training documents. Uses a variety of software and fully understands and leverages the functionality of each. Generally works on higher complexity projects and/or works on a variety of projects. Leverages in-depth knowledge and broader set of tools to solve business and/or project needs. Acts as specialist on industry best practices.

The Sr Business Analyst – PMCS Solutions for the National Program Management Practice leads the development of strategic project controls collaboration and document control technology solutions and standards for the portfolio of major project assignments nationwide. The leader also bridges technology and project delivery practitioners by providing expert technical guidance and integration recommendations with a team of technology developers and project team members. The leader will also evaluate existing programs via review, audit or survey to identify opportunities that support continuous improvement or the introduction of innovations.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Conducts requirements gathering and configuration work sessions. Documents results of discussions regarding project requirements and procedures.

  • Recommends appropriate technology solutions to support requirements of a program and/or project. Assists project team in selection of an appropriate project management control system (PMCS) solution for collaboration and document control.

  • Drafts project procedures based on discussions, documented requirements, and contractual documents. Contributes to writing of project procedures, particularly as related to use of project controls systems. Builds workflow diagrams to support modeling of business processes and development of procedures.

  • Leads cross-functional teams in developing project procedures and/or implementing procedures within project management system(s). Provides mentoring and support to designated PMCS administrator.

  • Leads sessions to configure PMCS or other function-specific project management tools to support project requirements. May provide ongoing support to project team for configuration, adjustment, and reporting from PMCS systems on larger and more complex engagements.

  • Develops training documents for system administrators and project personal related to PMCS or other systems. Trains project team members and system administrators on project management systems.

  • Evaluates existing programs via review, audit or survey to identify opportunities that support continuous improvement or the introduction of innovations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Systems/Software expertise in SharePoint, e-Builder, Power BI. Familiarity with PMCS systems platforms

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, IT or Business

  • 8 years related experience

  • In lieu of education, 12 years IT business process analysis and/or project controls experience
