HNTB Toll Technology Consultant in Austin, Texas

What We're Looking For

HNTB provides toll advisory services to the States of Indiana and Kentucky with the goal of improving toll operations on the Ohio River Bridges. We are seeking to add a toll technology consultant to our team. The consultant will support the States in all aspects of tolling operations, from roadside transactions through revenue collection.

The project is located in the Louisville metro area. Our preference is for this to be a local position. However, working remotely is an option for the right candidate.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Assist in monitoring and auditing services related to ongoing tolling operations.

  • Work closely with the States to assess ad-hoc operational issues as they arise. Investigate issues, communicate findings to decision makers, and recommend options for improvement.

  • Enhance the project’s strategic planning and performance measurement efforts.

  • Provide quality control for project deliverables.

  • Support the implementation of a new back office system and customer contact center.

  • Support the transition from the States’ existing toll services provider to a new provider.

  • Assist with the procurement of collections, roadside operations, and revenue control management services. This assistance will include developing procurement documents and assisting the States as they evaluate proposals.

  • Perform other consulting duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, Accounting/Finance, Planning, Business or related field

  • 7 years overall experience

  • 3 years tolling experience


What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs project management activities such as preparing budgets and schedules for tasks and all related management activities. Provides labor projections and project reporting commensurate with the level of involvement.

  • Supports marketing activities generally as a supporting role for preparation of pursuit materials.

  • Has direct client communication on a regular basis in task/project management or advisory role based on areas of expertise recognized internally.

  • Provides quality control for areas of demonstrated expertise.

  • Leads or supports toll technology projects and support other senior consultants at multiple points in life cycle of toll technology consulting.

  • Leads or supports planning activities such as assisting in the development of feasibility studies, assessments, concept of operations documents, procurement documents such as requests for proposal for toll systems and operations.

  • Leads or supports in procurement assistance.

  • Leads or supports toll system implementation including support for oversight of design, testing, installation.

  • Leads or supports toll system operations oversight consulting.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Accounting/Finance, Planning, Business or related field

  • 8 years related experience

  • In lieu of education, 12 years related experience
