HNTB Sr. Environmental Planner in Bellevue, Washington
What We're Looking For
Develop plans and policies to meet with social economic, and physical needs of communities, including land use transportation planning, transit planning, environmental planning, development, public facilities, and parks and recreational facilities. Directs the technical production of planning assignments and teams. May serve as a Project Manager on a limited basis for select large scale projects. Oversee the work of less experienced staff. Direct, coordinate and review technical work performed by other project team members.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Working on a wide range of planning, science, transportation, and environmental regulation projects, and
Leading and working on NEPA, SEPA, CEQA compliance documents, and public involvement processes
Coordinating, contributing to, and reviewing shorelines and critical areas studies, Growth Management Act documentation, Shoreline Management Act documentation, and technical discipline reports and studies.
Experience coordinating federal, state and local permitting processes and preparing application packages
Strong project management, organization, coordination and communication skills
Interact with a multidisciplinary team to direct efforts to ensure compliance with various federal, state and local environmental regulations.
Direct communications with clients, regulatory agencies, varieties of stakeholders, and the public.
Think creatively to resolve complex problems and identify solutions throughout a project’s planning, design, and construction phases.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's Degree in Planning or relevant field
Leed Accredited professional
RLA, RA, PE registration or AICP, CEP certification
What You'll Need
Performs various project supports tasks where planning involvement is required or requested on major, complex projects.
Assists leadership with implementation of office-wide technical standards and maintenance of technical resources.
Prepares scopes of work, fee proposals and assists with responses to RFP’s.
Directs technical aspects of multiple and large-scale planning projects and teams.
Directs, coordinates, and reviews technical work performed by other project team members.
Performs quality checks to ensure client requirements are met.
Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation.
Oversees the work of less experienced staff. Assists in directing teams for medium to large scale projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning or related field
10 years related experience
8 years related experience (with Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning or related field)
