HNTB Engineer III- Bridges and Structures in Cherry Hill, New Jersey
What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB as an Engineer III Bridges and Structures out of our Cherry Hill, NJ office.
The ideal candidate is fully capable of completing engineering-related tasks including research, calculations, design, contract document preparation and delivery with minimal direction. On tasks basis, candidate will be responsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering efforts that are responsive to project needs. Coordinates preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas. Coordinates with other engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the following:
Providing structural analysis and design of highway and/or railroad bridges and other transportation-related structures and providing complete design efforts with limited direction.
Coordinating the preparation of design details, plans, and contract drawings within assigned task areas.
Development of project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates.
Perform hand and computer-based analyses in support of assigned design tasks.
Preparation and checking of design contract drawings and/or specifications.
Review and checking of engineering work completed by others.
Providing construction phase engineering support as required.
An ideal candidate is someone who can:
Complete designs with direction from experienced engineers and project managers
Complete work accurately and in accordance with good engineering codes and practice
Effectively communicate and coordinate with other more experienced engineers
Multi-task and communicate schedule and progress on assigned tasks
Coordinate and work closely with other engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects
Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
5 years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Engineering
New Jersey PE (or ability to obtain within six months)
Proficiency in MicroStation
Experience with design software such as MDX, CONSPAN, Mathcad, RC-Pier, CsiBridge
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite
New Jersey Turnpike Authority, NJDOT, New Jersey Transit and PANY&NJ design experience
What You'll Need
Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans.
Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates. Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Works closely with other disciplines and multi-discipline projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
