HNTB Sr. Project Manager - Architect in Chicago, Illinois

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Multi- Discipline Architect to join our dynamic team in Chicago, IL.

This position is for a licensed architect who has demonstrate expertise in problem solving. In this role you will provide coordination and oversight to a multi-disciplined group of task leaders and project managers and will be accountable for the coordination of the work of other project team members and firms to deliver exceptional quality, within the established budget and schedule. You will need to possess strong communication skills, the ability to solve complex problems creatively, the ability to foster collaborative team dynamics, and effective client relationships.

Relevant experience in Airport Facility and Transit / Rail Station renovation and modernization projects is projects is preferred.

What You'll Do:

  • Has full responsibility for managing all aspects of project(s). Prepares strategic plans for project success. Serves as primary liaison contact with the clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget and with client satisfaction.

  • Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.

  • Actively manages client’s budget, schedule and program as well as HNTB’s budget and schedule. Responsible for project communications and documentation. Oversees office administrative tasks and project team assignments.

  • Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers. Coordinates work efforts and reviews work performed. Schedules and manages for integration of quality management during all phases of a project.

  • Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts on the most complex projects of the largest magnitude.

  • Responsible for performance evaluations, work allocation, training and mentoring of staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture/Design, or Architectural/Civil Engineering

  • 12 Years of related experience

  • RA, RID or PE Certifications/licenses

What We Prefer:

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Act as the primary client liaison responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of Aviation Architecture projects including contracting, project controls, quality, risk, and change management.

  • Accountability for project performance.

  • Develop and execute project work plans

  • Coordinate and lead a large complex project team within a larger program context.

  • Prepare technical proposals

  • Develop presentation materials and present.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentor staff.
