Primary Focus Will Include:
Collaborating with a multi-discipline team to achieve successful completion of small to complex projects throughout New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
Coordinating with team members to progress projects and build effective relationships.
Working alongside some of the region’s best engineers to prepare and/or check reports, plans, calculations, estimates, specifications, and designs for bridge projects and structural elements associated with roadway transportation projects.
Understanding, communicating, and developing solutions to project challenges.
Supporting the organization and execution of a plan to deliver project scope requirements within the structural discipline.
Development and growth of junior staff.
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
Develop structural bridge project design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates
Responsible for cost control on projects and quality control within bridge discipline
Resolve problems, interpret engineering specifications, investigate design and field engineering difficulties and coordinate schedules
Prepare and check design drawings and/or specifications
Review and check engineering work completed by others
Actively participate in planning, design and construction phases of projects
Market to clients in pursuit of additional projects
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Structural Engineering
5-7 years of design experience on NHDOT, VTrans, and/or MaineDOT bridge projects.
Registered Professional Engineer in New Hampshire (or ability to obtain)
Experience with bridge design software such as CSI Bridge, CONSPAN, RC-Pier, and, BrR
Experience using Microsoft Office, MathCAD, Microstation, OpenRoads, and OpenBridge
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
NBIS Inspection experience
What You'll Need
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Assist in the development of project specifications.
Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience
PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience

Comfortable learning new software and hardware.
Optimizes work processes by using knowledge of the most effective and efficient ways to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.
Understands and is able to coordinate interdisciplinary efforts.
Independently progresses the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.
Exhibits experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad.
Exhibits a thorough understanding of the application related to engineering, geometric and algebraic principles.
Manages time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.
