HNTB Sr. Construction Manager Architecture in Dallas, Texas

What We're Looking For

As part of our PMCM team on location with the client (international hub airport), the Sr. Construction Manager Architecture will manage and lead the delivery of construction activities through final delivery and asset handover. This role will manage and coordinate with all stakeholders, sponsor expectations, designers and contracts.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Projects will focus on vertical construction but may include some civil work on aprons and taxiways. Projects may include green space builds, terminal spaces, large scale renovations, demolitions and interior finish outs. Alternative delivery and DBB will be utilized.

  • Managing the designer and contractor relationship and contractual requirements is required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Science

  • RA/PE

  • Revit skills

  • Extensive knowledge of building construction industry with comprehensive understanding of construction process and procedures.

  • Ability to negotiate difficult and complex issues and serve as intermediary between design staff and construction representatives.

  • Full understanding of construction scheduling including experience with Proforma and/or MS Project scheduling tools.

  • Experience with dispute resolution procedures including claims recovery procedures such as mediation and arbitration.

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership for complex assignments. Analyzes most complex construction/design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures and consults with design engineering personnel.

  • Reviews submittals for conformance to plans and specifications. Develops strategies with the contractor to create submittal packages that conform to schedule requirements.

  • Provides direction to staff in the maintenance and distribution of current contract plans and specifications. Coordinates efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort. Monitors activities of assigned staff for conformance with HNTB’s contractual requirements. Coordinates with surveying, testing and inspection staff.

  • Serves as technical liaison with client on project efforts. Provides cost control on projects and quality control within discipline.

  • Confirms merit of change order requests. Develops estimates, negotiates costs and writes change orders.

  • Confirms contractor’s maintenance of record drawings prior to monthly progress payment to the contractor.

  • Reviews drawings, specifications and installation of constructability. May recommend changes to design. Analyzes more complex construction/design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures and consults with design engineering personnel.

  • Reads and interprets contract documents (plans, specs, shop drawings). Collects data to brief client on project issues and provides possible resolutions. Prepares summary inspection reports of daily activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

  • 15 years related experience

  • Proforma and/or MS Project
