HNTB Engineer II - Aviation in Denver, Colorado
What We're Looking For
Exciting opportunity to join HNTB's growing aviation practice in the Northwest. Engineer II - Aviation assists aviation department by performing civil engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery on assigned aviation and/or transportation related project(s).
Primary Focus Will Include:
Develop plans, specifications, estimates and reports for aviation improvement projects, including airfield, landside and terminal areas
Perform quality reviews of work performed by self and others
Schedule, direct, mentor and oversee design of work by more junior level engineers and technicians
Assist Project Manager in guiding team to overall project objectives
Coordinate directly with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Communicate with clients at project staff level.
Deliver project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
Construction administration and occasional construction site visits
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Passion for aviation
3 - 4 years civil design experience in airports and/or transportation civil engineering design
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D grading and/or utility design
Utility and/or storm drainage design and coordination experience
Familiarity with airport design standards including FAA Advisory Circulars
Familiarity preparing technical construction specifications for airport projects
Familiarity with airspace and/or line-of-sight studies
Construction administration and/or resident engineering experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to conduct engineering design tasks independently, with general oversight and supervision
What You'll Need
Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects.
Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
2 years relevant experience
