HNTB Real Estate Acquisition Specialist in Detroit, Michigan
What We're Looking For
This opportunity is for a Michigan-licensed Real Estate agent or broker to manage property acquisitions on large transportation infrastructure projects in Southeast Michigan. In this role, you will use your experience with state and/or local government real estate transactions to identify, negotiate and purchase private property for public use or private projects. You will also be responsible for managing consultant work and providing support to both property owners and transportation infrastructure clients.

What You’ll Do:
Communicates with property owner(s) to identify property that could be used in public projects.
Negotiates offering price for property.
Reviews property appraisals to assess value of private property for acquisition.
Works with design engineers and staff, reviews highway right-of-way plats, and interprets construction plans to determine where property may need to be acquired.
Networks with government officials and staff to understand public project goals and issues relating to property acquisition.
Pursues modifications of utility rights to create more land for public/project use.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
5 years relevant experience
What We Prefer:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Engineering or related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products and data management systems
Experience with property acquisition processes for state and/or local agencies
