Small Business Enterprise Representative in our Detroit, MI office.
For more than 25 years, the HNTB Michigan offices have planned, designed, and delivered some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Michigan. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to some of the most transformational transportation projects throughout Michigan.
Writes, edits and formats training and workshop materials, surveys, proposals and face-to-face interviews. Facilitates small business workshops. Assists with the development and preparation of handouts and presentations. The successful candidate must have a passion for assisting in the development and growth of small and minority businesses.
Writes, prepares and implements training, workshop materials and online surveys and face-to-face interviews. Creates announcements and various other correspondence for use in mailings and/or meetings. Assists in the creation of press releases, flyers, articles, newsletters and project award applications. Works with graphic design staff to write, plan and produce proposals and marketing materials.
Facilitates high level workshops for small businesses, senior staff and clients. Facilitates storyboarding and workshop sessions with senior staff. Collaborates with technical staff to develop topics and prepare materials for workshops. Assists in the preparation and creation of videos; including storyboarding, scriptwriting and interviews as well as the editing and finalizing of materials.
Coordinates meeting logistics for internal and external meetings, workshops and trainings. Documents meeting discussions and prepares meeting notes, materials and handouts.
Interacts with clients to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies and plans for the small business program. Coordinates the dissemination of information and materials to various audiences.
Researches, tracks and monitors the development of new and potential small businesses interested in providing transportation services. Manages project databases, email addresses, and web pages. Creates graphics, reports, summaries tables, blurbs and statements.
Responds to internal and external questions, requests and comments related to small business Responds to tasks in a timely manner and provides QA/QC on all materials.
Maintains a chronological photo display of the ongoing efforts with the SBE training program.
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Business or Journalism or related fields.
3 years of related experience
Must have strong writing, reading, editing and verbal skills
- Advance degree is a plus, but not required
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Intermediate skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and graphic design programs
Knowledge of transportation industry (local, state and federal roadway)
Social media skills and experience
General Work Conditions
Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
