HNTB Water Resource / Land Development Engineer III in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB! We are looking for a passionate engineer who wants to make a positive long-term impact on our community through a variety of transportation and land development projects. Projects include the land development and water resource portion of highway corridor improvements, rail corridor improvements, bridge replacements, and transit-oriented site development projects. The Engineer III will work with the design team to deliver HNTB’s 4for4: quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction on every project. Projects are with notable clients such as PennDOT, SEPTA, Amtrak, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Essential Responsibilities:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Assist in the development of project specifications.
Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience
PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
Primary Focus Will Include:
Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, plans, designs, estimates, permits, and calculations for water resource aspects of transportation projects
Experience with post-construction stormwater management plans including design and analysis, closed and open drainage designs, erosion and sedimentation control plans and narratives, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and reports, and Chapter 102 and 105 permitting preferred.
Coordinates with project team within the water resource group and transportation department to complete tasks
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, InRoads Storm and Sanitary, HEC-RAS, Pondpack and/or HydroCAD
Master’s degree in Engineering
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Professional Engineer (PE) certification
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline)
