This opportunity entails leading and managing geospatial projects and solutions supporting our environmental planning, transportation planning, and communications departments. This includes supporting our planners and creating/maintaining data and project templates for resource evaluation, creating graphics and impact assessments to support our planning and environmental documents, calculating impacts for studies, and creating graphics to convey our studies and impact evaluations to the public. Will also analyze customer requirements to create geospatial systems using industry-standard geospatial technologies and will also provide guidance and mentorship for junior planning staff.

What You’ll Do:

  • Works with design office to identify and implement value added services to the clients.

  • Identifies when to integrate GIS technology into an existing or future project.

  • Develops digital display tools to allow the end user to easily display and analyze the data in the GIS database.

  • Develops GIS applications using ESRI software, .NET, JavaScript, HTML or Windows client-based development tools.

  • Provides input into the business development process, such as defining proposed milestones, estimating work, documenting understanding of need and process to fulfill need.

  • Defines standard formats for various GIS product deliverables specific to the industry.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Planning or related field and 6 years related experience using ESRI, Intergraph, or Bentley software products, or

  • In lieu of degree, 10 years of relevant experience
