HNTB Sr. Utility Coordinator in Indianapolis, Indiana

Join our growing Indiana HNTB Office as a Sr. Utility Coordinator. This opportunity assists in the utility coordination during the design phase of projects and works closely with clients, utility owners, industry partners across design disciplines to assess project’s impacts on roadway and transit projects prior to construction.

What You'll Do:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Assist in the development of project specifications.
Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience, or
PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
What You'll Bring:
As a Utility Coordinator, you will:
Collaborate with INDOT, project managers, utility coordinators, and utility stakeholders on transportation improvement projects.
Facilitate meetings between utility partners and clients.
Maintain relationships with utility partners throughout project development.
Track all utility correspondence and due dates to maintain project schedule.
Prepare utility relocation Gantt charts and master relocation plans.
Maintain a technical understanding of utility involvement within project.
Assist in developing and executing agreements between INDOT and utility stakeholder.
Assist in technical review of project design with respect to utility related issues.
Advise project development team of issues that require resolution within the construction contract to ensure full coordination.
What We Prefer:
At least 4 years of relevant experience.
Experience with transportation infrastructure owners.
Experience coordinating utilities with utility companies.
Ability to obtain INDOT Utility Coordination and Railroad Coordination Certification within 6 months of employment if already not received.
