HNTB Survey Crew Chief in Jackson, Michigan
What We're Looking For
Responsible charge of other survey field crew members (rodman, instrument technician, senior instrument technician) in the completion of field survey assignments and projects. Works under direction of senior project personnel based on project assignments.
Essential Responsibilities:
Trains technicians in the use of survey equipment.
Maintains survey tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Operates survey equipment to conduct survey activities.
Accurately documents and records field data.
Reads and comprehends construction and real estate documents.
Performs courthouse and field research needed for locating property and right-of-way lines.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree
3 years of surveying experience
In lieu of education, 5 years of surveying experience
Primary Focus Will Include:
Using knowledge and equipment to complete field tasks for Right-of-Way, Design, Hydraulic, Structure, and Construction Survey.
Setting control networks for projects.
Record and Note taking.
Construction Staking and inspection (at times).
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Willingness to travel and work outdoors in all types of weather.
Willingness to work OT as required.
Perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.
