This role is responsible for interpreting client goals and program requirements needed to establish design goals and parameters for small to medium sized project assignments and be available to work under the supervision of a Sr. Project Designer on large projects. Serves as a resource to the project architect and project manager as the design is developed. Responsible for communication of design concepts to client and project teams.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Registered Architect

  • Revit Experience

  • Knowledge about sustainable design, integrated design and LEED guidelines.

  • Knowledge of detailing, building materials, construction techniques, related architecture/engineering principles, industry trends, technology, and building codes preferred.

  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas, including a strong ability to sketch by hand in 2D/3D.

  • Technical Excellence – Excellent knowledge of the job and professional expertise, understands the requirements of chosen field. Stays current. Produces quality work.

  • Personal Accountability – Can be counted on; accomplishes things in a timely manner and on a consistent basis. Follows through on commitments. Able to answer for self and others. Does not pass the buck or make excuses.

  • Proactive – Recognizes that by planning ahead they can be in the best position to influence the outcome. They do not hesitate to engage to solve problems.

  • Collaborative – Carefully considers who needs to be involved in situational analysis, effective decision making, implementation planning and reassessments for purposes of getting the best outcome and development of people.

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plans and develops architectural designs for sports projects.

  • Determines the project goals of the client through direct client contact and team communication.

  • Develops design concepts and leads development of design documents during early phases of project development. Project will vary in scale and include many, large scale projects of national public significance.

  • Collaborates with diverse project teams to implement and execute design intent.

  • Collaborates with Project Manager(s) and Sr. Project Architect(s) to ensure project is on schedule, on budget, reflects the latest industry trends, and meets all project business objectives.

  • Engages the entire project team in design charrettes and workshops during the project, fostering a collaborative and interactive charrette team relationship.

  • Coordinates quality of design product throughout the project process.

  • Prepares client presentations and presents design concepts.

  • Supports the marketing and business development initiatives of the office on project pursuits and may have active participation in strategy sessions, visioning workshops, and interviews.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design

  • 5 years of relevant experience
