HNTB Senior Interior Designer in Kansas City, Missouri
What We're Looking For
Manages interior design projects of all sizes and levels of complexity and provides project team leadership. Takes initiative on complex strategic issues such as design direction, client management and fee negotiations. Provides quality management of design and technical issues such as specifications or detailing. Manages the client through the project process. Takes responsibility for client contact and for communicating goals and responsibilities to the project team. Ensures client satisfaction. Organizes business development activities through structured contacts with existing or potential clients. Oversees project budget management and cost control. Involves corporate resources as needed and escalates issues to senior leadership when necessary.
Manages programming and master planning activities. Leads teams and mentors less experienced interior designers relative to projects and career development. Knowledge of detailing, interior materials, construction techniques, related architecture/engineering principles, industry trends, technology, and building codes required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Project Types Include:
Corporate Office Design
Sports Market - Professional and Collegiate facilities of all types
Aviation Market - Airside and Landside Terminal Design, Airline Club Design
Primary Focus Will Include:
Design and/or technical lead on small, medium, and large projects within all markets.
Collaborate on large projects with a team of designers, both internal and external.
Oversight of project documentation for design intent and quality.
Coordination/management of subconsultants.
Lead finish and furniture selection and specification.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture plus 6 years of similar marketd experience.
Outstanding ability to foster a collaborative team environment, mentor and supervise younger staff members.
Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas, including a strong ability to sketch by hand in 2D/3D preferred.
Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D software, including Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Suite products, Lumion, Enscape, Rhino, InDesign and Illustrator.
NCIDQ and LEED accreditation is a plus.
