HNTB Sr. Project Director in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania

What We're Looking For

The time is right to join HNTB! The candidate selected will be responsible for the profitable operation of large signal projects. Assists with railway signal engineering client management.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Leads projects that have a predominance of railway signal content

  • Provides technical guidance to signal engineers to establish and/or interpret design criteria, AREMA standards and client needs

  • Assists in pursuits to grow expertise and projects involving CBTC (Communications Based Train Control)

  • Oversees and supervises signal testing

  • Provides clients advice on communications and signal maintenance

  • Attend industry events, serve on panels, and publish to foster HNTB’s Rail Transit Market practice expertise.

  • Estimated travel 20% regional and national 5 % as required.

  • Develops and nurtures key customer relationships to build alliances and acquire new business.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Requires excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills.

  • Requires ability to interface with client as firm representative.

  • Owner/operator experience for rail/transit.

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Has full managerial responsibility for all aspects of the project including negotiating extras, cost control, staffing, quality control and cash management.

  • Develops and nurtures key client relationships and is the primary company contact on the project.

  • Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts on large or multiple projects.

  • Actively manages client’s budget, schedule and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation.

  • Satisfies client requirements.

  • Coordinates work efforts and reviews work performed.

  • Responsible for managing and delivering quality mega projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.

  • Identifies and markets additional business opportunities with key clients.

  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 16 years engineering experience, including directing large mega projects
