HNTB Water Resource Project Engineer in King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania

What We're Looking For

The time is right to join HNTB! We are looking for a creative and technically sound engineer who is ready to be challenged and work as a task lead on the water resource portion of transportation projects such as highway corridors, rail corridors, bridge replacements, and transit-oriented site developments. As a task lead, the engineer will coordinate efforts of a design team within the water resources discipline to deliver quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction on every project. They will serve as a technical liaison for clients such as PennDOT, SEPTA, Pennsylvania Turnpike and Amtrak.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Responsible for the delivery of reports, plans, specifications, estimates, calculations, and designs for water resource portions of transportation projects including: Post-construction stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, open and closed drainage designs, and Chapter 102 NPDES and Chapter 105 waterway permits.

  • Leads team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design within budget and schedule

  • Collaborates with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering

  • 8 years relevant experience

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification

  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, InRoads Storm and Sanitary, HEC-RAS, Pondpack and/or HydroCAD

  • Experience with PennDOT, SEPTA, Amtrak or land development projects

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence the to the schedule and budget on projects.

  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.

  • Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.

  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.

  • Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.

  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience

  • PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
