HNTB Corporation is currently seeking candidates for a Senior Rail Simulation Project Manager opportunity located in our Jacksonville, FL or Lake Mary, FL office.
Manage multiple, medium-sized, urban design and/or planning projects.
Manages administrative tasks related to the project, including project team assignments and scheduling.
Responsible for the coordination of administrative aspects of the project to ensure that projects assigned are completed within the schedule and budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
Serves as primary point-of-contact with client and other project consultants.
Estimates fees, determines work scope and prepares proposals and contracts for medium-sized projects.
Coordinates with and involves project designers and project technical staff.
Manages client budget, schedule and program and HNTB budget and schedule.
Manages project communications and documentation.
Reviews work of other project team members for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinates and communicates regularly with group director and office leader on progress of projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Provide expertise in simulation of passenger and freight rail infrastructure planning and operations analysis. Validate and calibrate simulation models.
Conduct statistical analyses to evaluate simulation results.
Modify or develop models in Rail Traffic Controller (RTC).
Support transit planning efforts, including those related to feasibility studies, NEPA studies, Alternative Analysis studies, etc.
Provide additional technical support and leadership within transportation planning group and between rail/systems engineering group.
Write technical reports.
Serve as Task Leader and potentially Deputy Project Manager or Project Manager on technical projects.
Develop model and off-model approaches for travel demand analyses for inclusion in project scopes and proposals.
Develop and apply transit travel demand forecasting models for transportation studies.
Conduct all aspects of transit ridership forecasting compliant with FTA requirements, including developing model inputs, running the model, and analyzing results.
Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, Architecture, or related field
8 years related experience
6 years related experience (with Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, Architecture, or related field)
Rail Traffic Controller (RTC) experience
Transit planning experience, including development of feasibility studies for freight, commuter, light rail transit, high speed rail, bus rapid transit, etc.
FTA New Starts analysis, etc. is a plus.
CORSIM, McTrans HCS+, TransCAD,, Cube/TP+/Voyager experience is a plus.
SPSS or SAS experience is a plus.
Computer and database programming skills (java, C++, access or similar).
Task or project management experience.
General Work Conditions
Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
