HNTB Architectural BIM Manager II in Los Angeles, California

This postion serves as a lead BIM and design technology resource at the project level. Works with project teams to outline technology objectives, requirements, and design and documentation approaches. Knowledgeable and proficient in current and emerging tools and workflows including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 cloud collaboration, large project model coordination, clash detection, complex 3D modeling, database analysis, and model auditing.

Project Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project-level champion of BIM quality and execution.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and develop best practices and project team workflows.

  • Review design 3D models and project data for quality, organization, and performance.

  • Administrate BIM 360 project site and associated services (BIM 360 Docs, Design, Model Coordination, Field, etc.)

  • Coordinate and facilitate clash detection, QA/QC, and auditing of design models across varied model authoring software.

  • Develop and maintain project BIM Execution Plan documents and templates.

  • Lead regular multi-disciplinary project BIM meetings.

  • Act as liaison between HNTB and the client on BIM-related aspects of the project.

Office-wide Responsibilities

  • Provide experienced and professional opinions, communications, and leadership related to BIM and technology to HNTB as well as to our clients and partners.

  • Investigate and inform best practices for large teams and large project modeling, documentation, file sharing, and QA/QC.

  • Facilitate the development, implementation, and enforcement of BIM and design technology standards, including content libraries and templates.

  • Produce technical documentation of existing, new, and alternative workflows and modeling techniques.

  • Serve as first line of support for advanced, complex Revit/BIM software workflows and modeling.

  • Responsible for development of staff, including advanced skills training for key employees or groups (computational design, complex geometry modeling, environmental analysis, etc.)

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Knowledge in computational design, programming, or visual scripting.

  • Experience with large firms, large projects, large teams.

  • Ability to travel interoffice and/or for conference attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or relevant degree.

  • 5 years relevant experience

  • BIM Management at an Architectural, Engineering, Construction or related firm
