HNTB CEI Senior ITS Inspector in Miami, Florida
What We're Looking For
Responsible for daily inspection efforts on multiple complex, large, and /or diverse projects in order to ensure contractor’s operations comply with project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Prepares daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by contractor and reviews periodical pay estimates with contractor for accuracy. Prepares sketches and assembles data for Field Engineer to utilize when making changes to the project. May participate in the mentoring, development, and evaluation of staff inspectors. Possess highest level of technical expertise; capable of addressing the most difficult and novel issues/problems.
The South Dade TransitWay Corridor (South Corridor) is one the six rapid transit corridors of the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan. The corridor runs 20-miles in length and connects numerous municipalities which represent some of the fastest growing communities in Miami-Dade County. This corridor extends from the Dadeland South Metrorail Station to the SW 344th Street Park-and-Ride/Transit Terminal and provides a mobility connection between the Miami Central Business District and the Village of Pinecrest, the Village of Palmetto Bay, Town of Cutler Bay, City of Homestead, and Florida City.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Responsible for performing technical assignments related to the inspection of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) including conduit, directional bore, Fiber Optic cables and terminations, and ITS devices such as CCTV Cameras, VDS's and DMS boards.
Responsible for coordinating and managing lower level inspectors.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Fiber Installation Inspection and OTDR Fiber Testing DRM Operation and Testing Controller Operation and Testing CCTC installation, operation and testing
Familiarity with existing communication equipment and switches
IMSA Level II
FDOT intermediate MOT
NICET Level III
Ability to operate relevant testing equipment related to assigned duties
Basic computer knowledge and skills
What You'll Need
Monitor work of Contractor against Project Schedule.
Review and Resolve quantity disputes with contractor.
Read and Comprehend contract documents (i.e. plans, specifications, shop drawings).
Keep Inspector's Daily Report of assigned work activities.
Produce As-Constructed sketches as required.
Perform and or observe on-site material testing.
Perform sophisticated, complicated mathematical calculations.
Perform measurements of completed work to date.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
5 years construction related experience
All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements
