HNTB Project Analyst in Miami, Florida

What We're Looking For

Works closely with office/project business managers, project controls staff, and project managers to support 4 for 4 performance on projects thru the project lifecycle in areas of marketing, contracting, and delivery. Performs project analysis and coordination, tracking & reporting, accounting month-end coordination, and cash management duties on assigned project(s). May support multiple project managers, departments and offices. Generally assigned to smaller/low risk projects ($5MM or less) or assists in supporting larger/complex projects.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Perform financial client contract review; assess payment and compensation terms and recommend opportunities for revenue enhancements and positive cash performance

  • Model and analyze various gross margin scenarios (including baseline and target) and recommend revenue enhancement opportunities

  • Partner with PM to facilitate effective alignment of work plan and project budget in AX (reflecting contract financial and invoicing requirements)

  • Review and update project backlog and RLF for accurate forecasting

  • Establish cost and cash management plan; communicate proactively to project team project charge codes, contract cost caps, and billing requirements and restrictions

  • Analyze financial performance in areas of budget, earnings variances, profitability, and cash flow and discuss recommendations with PM; attend project reviews and actively participate in financial related discussions

  • Facilitate efficient earnings review process; partner with PM for accurate and timely ETC reporting and financial projections that adhere with Revenue Recognition Policy; alert PM and office leadership of potential variances

  • Partner with PM and EOCM for accurate and timely monthly invoices; identify, research and proactively resolve billing/revenue variances

  • Monitor DBO/TACI and facilitate corrective actions to drive positive cash positions; monitor and partner with PM and office leadership in developing plans to resolve AR & DB balances

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Project Management Certification, Other Contracting or Project Management Certifications

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • General knowledge of project management processes, understands basics of A/E Industry

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensures financial integrity and transparency by adhering to and monitoring compliance to internal and external governance requirements (HNTB policies and procedures, Client requirements, Industry standard accounting requirements and Government requirements).

  • Analyzes contracts, reports, and, key metrics to provide project assessment to team members in areas of budget, profitability, earnings variances, cash flow, and select contract compliance requirements/metrics. May create tools/independent spreadsheets to help analyze burn rate/earned value, earnings variances, cash projections, and other key project performance metrics.

  • Provides input to the overall Project Management Plan in areas affecting cost and profitability, includes communicating project specific contract guidelines and/or procedures to project teams and ensuring adherence to those items.

  • Assist project managers/other team members with proactive financial review/analysis and documentation for project review meetings. Communicates relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) affecting project performance. May document meeting minutes/relevant actions items from review meetings.

  • Assists with effective cash management by creating and/or maintaining cash flow management plans.

  • Assists project team members with the procurement process. Assists in review of contracts/request for proposals (RFPs) under guidance from other team members. Reviews and provides risk and opportunity information using historical client/project data and research.

  • Facilitates and assists in preparations and review of cost proposals and corresponding profitability review. Provides financial review of fee proposals.

  • Gives guidance/training to Project Management Staff/other office personnel on HNTB Processes and best practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or relevant degree

  • 2 years’ experience in financial/project analysis or similar position

  • In lieu of education, 6 years of relevant experience in Architectural/Engineering or similar industry only
