HNTB TSM&O/ITS Project Manager I in Miami, Florida
What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB is currently seeking a TSM&O/ITS Project Manager I in either of our Miami, FL or Ft. Lauderdale, FL offices.
Responsible for the leadership and management of a team in support of the project’s profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the project's technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. Responsible for gross revenue of <$5M.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Serving as the lead technical ITS/TSM&O resource for HNTB's South Florida clients including FDOT, Expressway Authority, Miami-Dade County and others
Serve as Engineer of Record for ITS component of Final Design projects
Lead Connected Vehicle deployment projects for South Florida clients
Responsible for preparation and completion of TSM&O/ITS discipline engineering analysis and designs that are responsive to project needs with minimal direction.
Assist in providing technical direction to the scope of projects; provides technical expertise on ITS projects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contracts for construction.
Develops project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates.
Prepares and checks design drawings, specifications, technical reports and design documentation as applicable.
Reviews and checks engineering work completed by others.
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
Coordinates with clients to define work programs and budgets, provide leadership in project planning and strategy including general oversight and planning, project management, project implementation, and ensuring quality of work products.
Coordinate and develop Concept of Operations (ConOps) and other Systems Engineering documentation.
Coordinate and develop technical documents such as feasibility studies, concept reports, concept plans related to various ITS components such as fiber optic communications system, closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, dynamic message signs (DMS), vehicle detection system (VDS), ramp signaling, wrong-way driving, roadside units (RSUs), on-board units (OBUs), and the like.
Coordinate and develop request for proposal (RFP) and scope documentation which includes technical, functional and design requirements for ITS projects to be procured by client agencies.
Develop test plans and procedures for various ITS components.
Develop program level TSM&O Plans – strategic plans, action plans, needs plans.
Support traffic signal design including signal and highway lighting design.
Coordinate and perform ITS field reviews, data collection and analysis in support of other tasks.

What You'll Need
Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.
Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.
Coordinates work efforts and reviews of work performed by project team. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
8 years relevant experience
