HNTB Assistant Team Leader trainee - Bridge Inspection in New York, New York
What We're Looking For
Entry level construction inspection position. Inspects and documents individual activities performed by the contractor in order to monitor compliance with specifications, plans, and other contract provisions.
Train to become an Assistant Team Leader for NYSDOT biennial bridge inspections. Candidate will perform rudimentary mathematical calculations; perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings; prepare photo logs and prepare photo location plans using MicroStation CADD software; and prepare condition sketches of structural elements inspected.
AS in Engineering Technology or similar two year degree in the Engineering field strongly preferred.
Must be physically fit, have a driver’s license, not be afraid of heights and have good communication and computer skills.
Must know Word, Excel and MicroStation.
This is a 22 month assignment.
What You'll Need
Monitors work of Contractor.
Reads and comprehends contract documents.
Keeps Inspector's Daily report of assigned work activities.
Assists in performing on-site material testing.
Produces As-Constructed sketches as required.
Performs rudimentary mathematical calculations.
Performs measurements of completed work to date.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements
