HNTB Office Engineer - Construction - Transit in New York, New York
What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB is currently seeking a Office Engineer - Transit.
Performs technical tasks regarding project submittals. Supports field engineers in performing daily tasks. Works on contract administrative tasks related to medium size projects. Assists in performing field inspection of multiple routine contractor activities.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Working as part of a construction management team, the experienced and competent individual is expected to:
Performs initial reviews of technical incoming and outgoing submittals to make sure compliance with requirements;
Supports field engineers in with pertinent technical information;
Performs field inspection of basic construction activities.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Engineering degree plus a minimum of 3 years of experience. New York City Transit Experience is preferred.
What You'll Need
Inspects and documents individual activities performed by the contractor.
Performs measurement of completed work to date.
Reads and comprehends contract documents.
Keeps inspectors daily report of assigned work activities.
Maintains overall project daily diary.
Prepares monthly construction estimates.
Assists in on-site material testing.
Monitors construction progress to assure proper installation sequences and compliance with schedule and contract requirements and state and local regulations.
Assists in the review and modification of schedules, specifications and drawings.
Prepares short term schedules to identify potential scheduling problems and recommends possible solutions.
Acts as project manager as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture
1 year construction experience
All jurisdictional certifications as required
