What We're Looking For
An opportunity to join the Urban Design/Planning/Landscape Architecture group at HNTB Corporation. This full-time position will be located in the Coastal Resiliency Field Office in NYC. Work with HNTB's Community Engagement Team, coordinating and implementing public involvement programs for clients to facilitate communication and acceptance of projects and initiatives primarily during the construction phase. *Please send work samples both graphic and written.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Leading community engagement for resiliency and transportation projects with a focus on conveying the project’s brand, vision and community benefits, to key stakeholders.
Developing and managing a suite of graphics and communications specific to the project. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
Final production graphics associated with public meetings, presentation drawings, reports, etc.
Development of engagement strategies and activities.
Presentation to stakeholders and local community organizations.
Works with other community engagement team members and City agencies.
Communications and/or outreach experience on projects under construction and/or knowledge of construction processes. Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Planning or related field
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
6 years relevant experience
Strong communication skills, particularly in terms of writing
Graphic design skills
Social media skills and experience
What You'll Need
Prepares and coordinates dissemination of community relations materials, facts and information about workforce development to external agencies, associations, and news organizations using print, periodicals, radio and/or visual communication media.
Completes routine records and reports related to public involvement meetings and public hearings.
Helps coordinate community meetings including scheduling, determining location, and ensuring proper setup and materials are present.
May interact with clients to coordinate implementation of communication programs.
Drafts speeches, creates and designs presentation materials, and/or composes correspondence for use in mailings and/or meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism or relevant field
4 years of relevant experience
