The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking an Aviation Planner in our Oakland, CA office.
Assists assigned department by performing basic engineering-related tasks including research, development, design and delivery on assigned project(s).
Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects.
Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Perform research, gather data, and conduct field surveys in support of airport planning studies
Consults with fellow employees and senior staff concerning the compilation, interpretation, and presentation of research data for airport planning studies.
Under senior staff direction develops technical analysis for airport facilities including airfield/airspace, terminal or ground transportation
Under senior staff direction develops concept plans for airport facilities including airfield/airspace, terminal or ground transportation
Prepares draft sections of reports, presentations and other deliverables for dissemination of technical information to clients, stakeholders and the public
Assists in developing, formatting, publishing, and distributing tables, charts, manuals, and maps that deal with existing and proposed airport planning studies
Provides advice, technical assistance, and written recommendations on airport planning studies
Responds to requests for data and information from internal staff and external clients, organizations, various agencies, and the public
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Bachelor's degree in a field that provides a strong foundation for aviation consulting, such as Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management
A familiarity with the aviation industry or a desire to learn and grow in the aviation industry
Previous internship experience
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects and tasks
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
Experience using AutoCAD
Knowledge of analytical techniques and related tools including statistical, spreadsheet, database, simulation, and spatial/graphical analysis applications (REVIT, GIS, etc)
General Work Conditions
Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client’s job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
