HNTB New Grad Aviation Planner in Oakland, California

What We're Looking For It is an exciting time to join HNTB's Aviation Planning practice! This position will work closely and collaboratively with aviation planning staff, project managers, and leadership to deliver a wide range of airport planning projects at airports across the United States. The successful candidate will have an interest in and passion for aviation and has excellent critical thinking skills.

Our Oakland, CA and Golden Valley, MN offices seek a New Grad Aviation Planner for Summer 2021.

Relocation is not provided for this position.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Preparing drawings and narrative reports for a wide range of airport planning projects spanning multiple disciplines, including terminal, airfield, landside, land use, and airspace planning

  • Assisting with the preparation of stakeholder and public presentations

  • Learning and utilizing airport simulation models

  • Preparing complex analyses

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineer, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, Aviation Management, or related field

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or Revit

  • Experience using ESRI ArcGIS

  • Proficiency Microsoft Office suite of products

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Works from designs and plans of others, compile data, perform basic design and technical computations.

  • Applies recognized tools of analysis and provides comprehensive review of the data.

  • Researches and collects raw data and organizes in a form ready for analysis.

  • Assists in preparation of transportation plans and studies.

  • Assists in production of concepts, graphics and reports.

  • Assists in the development of presentation material, reports or report layout.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design or related field
