The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking a Project Engineer – Drainage, to work out of our Salt Lake City, UT office. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with drainage and grading design - preferrebly for transportation related projects.
Provides grading and drainage design and modeling on tasks for various transportation projects within the highway, rail and aviation disciplines. Assists with project execution and project control of scope, schedule and budget for duration of projects. Responsible for specific design aspects, coordination of design team efforts and completeness and accuracy of planning and design. Provides technical support to clients on projects. Responsible for gross revenue of <$1M.
Provides coordination of project execution and control, in a given discipline area, to achieve continuity of purpose within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through project closeout. Also accountable for handling specific design aspects on projects appropriate to discipline field. Coordinates efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort. Serves as technical liaison with client on project efforts. Responsible for gross revenue of <$1M.
Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work. Guides team to overall project objectives.
Serves as technical liaison with client at staff level for work within the discipline.
Assists with project management duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Project Engineer - Drainage
Cost control on projects and quality control within discipline
Planning, design and construction phases of projects
Presentation of specific design aspects to project management team and clients
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
6 years relevant experience
6 years of relevant experience in drainagne, grading, and utilities on transportation projects (REQUIRED)
Bachelors degree in Civil Enginering
Knowledge of typical regulatory requirements related to stormwater management.
Experience designing a variety of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs).
Experienced user of Autodesk Storm and Sanitary, Bentley Storm and Sanitary, HY-8, SWMM, HEC RAS, HEC HMS, Microstation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Master's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
Experience with Utah Department of Transportation and/or Salt Lake City International Airport
General Work Conditions
Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client’s job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
