HNTB Group Director - Transportation Planning in St. Louis, Missouri
What We're Looking For
Responsible for direction and supervision of a multiple professional or technical groups. Directs project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients are provided the best design capabilities to meet their needs. Responsible for efficient, productive utilization of staff in providing high-quality service.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Leading and growing HNTB's Central States (MO/KS/OK/IA) Transportation Planning and Policy Practice
Engaging with key clients in the Central States market including state DOTs, transit organizations, toll agencies and others
Ensuring profitable contracts and growth of group
Conducting client and project audits
Strategic external organization engagement to grow HNTB's brand and opportunities for client and civic interactions
Engaging with client directors and elected officials as a thought leader on transportation funding and policy initiatives
Leading key projects as the Project Manager or Principal in Charge
Engaging with all offices in our geography, including Kansas City, Overland Park, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, and Des Moines, including travel and in person interactions
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Engineering
What You'll Need
Actively manages assigned project management activities (project scope, schedule, budget and quality management) and performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications and plan preparation.
Implements and executes the firm’s Sophisticated Sales Approach, Sophisticated Contracting Approach and Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SSA, SCA, SDA).
Establishes priorities and work schedules and coordinates resource needs/assignments.
Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
Responsible for the hiring, supervision, mentoring, professional development, evaluation and termination of department staff members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design or relevant degree

4 years supervisory experience
