HNTB Traffic Systems Engineer II in Tampa, Florida
What We're Looking For
Assisting professional engineers in performing applied practical tasks related to traffic engineering, transportation planning and modeling. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB’s clients. Job duties include traffic studies, traffic safety analysis, interstate and arterial operational analysis using simulation tools and transportation demand modeling.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Assisting Professional Engineers with traffic engineering studies and operational analysis.
Producing traffic technical documents such as Project Traffic Analysis Reports (PTAR), traffic safety studies, and Interchange Access Reports.
Assist in the analysis and preparation of the PD&E and planning documents.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Engineering
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Knowledgeable in Microsimulation tools such as VISSIM and/or CORSIM
Knowledgeable in Macro modeling tools such as Highway Capacity Software (HCS), Synchro/ SimTraffic, and/or SIDRA Intersection.
Travel Demand Modeling and/or traffic forecasting experience (CUBE Voyager).
MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
What You'll Need
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.
Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience

Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad or other software as required for job assignments.
Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric and algebraic principles in your work.
