What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB! HNTB is a seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join our growing Transit and Rail Group in the Baltimore, MD, or Washington D.C. office This position will be responsible for the leadership and management of a team in support of the project’s profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the projects technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. Responsible for gross revenue of $10M-30M.
Primary Focus will include:
Managing projects for our clients
Assistance in developing new work
Supporting Transit and RailProjects in other locales.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop and nurture existing key client relationships and serve as one of the primary company contacts on multiple medium to large size transit projects with an emphasis on infrastructure, systems, and project management.
Actively manage client’s budget, schedule, and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation.
Serve as a technical resource leading a team providing transit engineering, design, and management services for clients.
Coordinate work efforts: ensure work products and designs meet project requirements and client needs.
Guide and nurture junior engineers to become leaders in the field.
Effectively manage a project team including sub-consultants with varying disciplines.
Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts on projects.
Identify and market additional business opportunities with key clients.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
16 years of relevant experience
6 years Project Management Skills
PE license preferred.
Strong leadership and organization skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working on medium to large transit/rail engineering projects.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
Strong knowledge of Projectwise and MicroStation
What You'll Need
Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.
Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.
Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers. Coordinates work efforts and review work performed. Schedules and manages for integration of quality management during all phases of a project.
Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
