HNTB Senior CADD Support Specialist / Bentley in Chicago, Illinois

As a corporate Senior CADD Support Specialist, you will be a key player in ensuring smooth technical operations within our organization. Your expertise in Bentley and Autodesk applications, coupled with your focus on plan production processes, will contribute to our success. From software installation to user support, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex CADD software-related issues and point contact for escalated CADD support issues in ITSM.

  • Software Installation: Assist in software deployment, updates, and customization with HNTB IT Applications Operations team.

  • Software Testing: Prioritize and test software upgrades.

  • Standards Enforcement: Support reinforcement of CADD standards for consistent use.

  • Documentation: Create end-user documentation and maintain knowledge base articles.

  • Workspace Administration: Assist with CADD workspace setup and integrations.

  • Quality Assurance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other support staff.

  • Coordinate with Project Delivery Office, IT Departments, Core Tech System Administrators, and other corporate Technical Support Representatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs CADD software installation for new users and system upgrades for existing users. Partners with CADD vendors and acts as a support liaison for patches, bug fixes and upgrades as needed.

  • Develops, implements and enforces CADD standards to ensure consistent use, appropriate file organization and timely sync of files across end users and offices.

  • Creates issue resolution documentation for end user reference and utilization such as installation and troubleshooting processes. Writes and develops knowledge base articles and maintains accuracy and storage.

  • Prioritizes and tests CADD software upgrades and issues in preparation of firm wide implementation in partnership with the project delivery office.

  • Responds, diagnoses and resolves CADD software related issues for end users logged through ticketing system as needed.

  • Assists with administration and implementation of CADD workspaces and integrations with ProjectWise.

  • May support printing and plotting within our CADD environment.

  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve customer satisfaction and employee development. Acts as a technical resource and internal quality assurance for the CADD support team.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Associate Technical Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or

  • In lieu of degree, 8 years of experience in CADD Support and CADD Administration or relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert with respect to CADD software and has advanced knowledge of Bentley and Autodesk CADD applications. Applies expertise to the configuration of portal assignments, role-based permissions and CADD workspace design and operation.

  • Utilizes resourcefulness to research and remain knowledgeable regarding current and possible future policies, practices, and trends that may apply to HNTB, competing firms and in the marketplace.

  • Possesses a basic understanding of security and applies understanding to make recommendations surrounding security improvement.

  • Independently resolves CADD issues of the highest complexity.

What We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering related degree

  • Working knowledge of Autodesk and Bentley CADD applications

Experience in a wide variety of CADD application and production environments and workflows.

  • Server project config, workspace (linestyles, fonts, etc.)

  • User CADD config (Config Updater, …)

  • PW integration (Bentley & Autodesk)

  • Bentley: (Microstation V8i, ProjectWise, OpenRoad, OpenBridge, OpenRail, Conceptstation, Connection Client, SignCAD, Pond Pack... )

  • Autodesk (AutoCAD, AutoCAD C3D, Revit, AVT, Desktop Connector, Licensing Entitlements...)

  • Transoft (AutoTURN, GuideSIGN)

  • Print\plot (print styles, psets, ssm, etc.)

  • Pinnacle user onboarding and article creation

  • Additional CADD applications as needed
