HNTB Traffic Project Engineer in Concord, New Hampshire

Our group performs both the typical traffic engineering work - signal design, maintenance of traffic, and planning studies and evaluation but also offers opportunities to work in toll and ITS solutions.

Whether locally or at any of the other nearly 80 offices nation wide, career opportunities are endless, ranging from working on local intersection projects to working in specialized national practice groups with experts of industry on the cutting edge of the most exciting projects throughout the country.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.

  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.

  • Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.

  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.

  • Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.

  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or

  • Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or

  • PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Preparation of technical reports and graphics

  • Data collection and field observations

  • Traffic analysis and simulation of traffic operations

  • Traffic safety analysis and road safety audits

  • Traffic signal and pavement marking & signage design

  • ITS and toll system design

  • Design of temporary traffic control plans

  • Preparation of plans and cost estimates

What We Prefer:

  • PE is preferred.

  • Experience in HCS and Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM experience is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in MicroStation V8i is a plus

  • Experience in GIS is a plus
