This opportunity entails leading and managing geospatial projects and solutions for business problems. Will work with clients and stakeholders to establish geospatial architecture and processes to meet customer requirements. Will also analyze customer requirements to create geospatial systems using industry-standard geospatial technologies and will also provide guidance and mentorship for junior geospatial developers and analysts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Designs and develops geospatial solutions for business problems using GIS software and tools.

  • Establishes geospatial architecture and processes to meet customer requirements.

  • Analyzes customer requirements to create geospatial systems using industry-standard geospatial technologies such as ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS, etc.

  • Implements solutions using cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence.

  • Provides guidance and mentorship for junior geospatial developers and analysts.

  • Reviews and optimizes geospatial data and applications for quality and performance.

  • Provides support and troubleshooting for software and hardware systems that are used by other departments within an organization.

  • Identifies new opportunities and challenges for GIS technology within an organization or industry sector.

  • Works with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and deliverables.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Programming, or related field and 3 years of related experience, or

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Programming, or related field and 2 years of related experience, or

  • In lieu of education, 7 years of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring:

  • Knowledge of advanced geospatial concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, coordinate systems, etc.

  • Develop, customize, document complex geospatial applications using comprehensive geospatial knowledge, project requirements and an understanding of client needs.

  • Assists client in determining survey and mapping needs using the most effective collection methods and technologies to meet those needs. Meets with client and technology staff to define and document system requirements. Develops system configuration specifications, conceptual and logical workflow and business process diagrams for system development or customization.

  • Creates and executes moderately complex system implementations according to established timeline, budget and quality expectations.

  • Leads projects of small to medium scope. Assists in the development of project scope, fees and proposals.

  • Serves as a technical resource in the application of one or more geospatial platform technologies, such as Esri, Bentley and Autodesk. Provides user support and solves moderately complex technical problems with geospatial systems.

  • Proven experience in the development of applications using Esri solutions, inclusive of the following product lines: Web App Builder, Experience Builder, Survey 123, Survey 123 Connect, Field Maps, Story Maps and Dashboards.

  • Codes, tests, debugs and configures solutions at a moderate difficulty level. May perform peer reviews on work performed by junior staff. Thoroughly documents and tests all work produced.

  • Recommends enhancements or changes to technology, methodology and process standards. Interactively and incrementally improves both products and processes.

  • Performs quality reviews / develops quality controls in line with HTNB’s 4 for 4 delivery methodology.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail and quality

  • Experience with big data, cloud computing, or machine learning technologies

What We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Computer Programming

  • Expertise in the use of ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro.

  • Experience in the configuration and deployment of any of the following: ArcGIS Indoors, ArcGIS IPS, Utility Network, Linear Referencing Systems.

  • Experience in the conversion of CAD data to GIS, and establishing data pipelines/workflows to provide updates across different systems of record.

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of FME by Safe Software

  • Understanding and exposure to various databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; developing and configuring web services for data exchange.

  • GIS analysis skills; especially in the realm of transportation and environmental planning.

  • Familiar with scripting languages such Python and SQL and a firm understanding of relational database design.

  • GISP Certification.

The approximate pay range for New York is $70,831.98 - $132,809.97. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.

The approximate pay range for Colorado is $77,915.18 - $116,872.77. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
