This opportunity entails performing work similar to Technicians, primarily emphasizing people management. Coordinates the work activities of a group of technicians of various levels to ensure that schedules and quality of work are maintained. Works with professional staff in scheduling work and assigning support staff to their projects. Responsible for the training and development of staff. Also responsible for resolving technical design problems that may include performing field investigations or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others.
What You’ll Do:
Utilizes as technical resource in project meetings and project design for area of specialty.
Researches best practices and maintains outside contact with other specialists.
Acts as an internal and external point-of-contact for specialty area(s).
Develops and advises others in related subject matter.
Prepares technical presentations, reports, and analysis in area of specialty.
Interacts regularly with clients at the staff level.
May perform technical reviews for other projects in area of specialty.
Recruits, hires, develops and retains staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession. Coordinates schedules and approves timecards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or
Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related and 12 years of relevant experience, or
In lieu education, 14 years of relevant experience
What We Prefer:
Bachelor's degree in Drafting technology or related discipline
10 years related experience

The approximate pay range for California is $100,502.72 - $178,632.44. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
